Paper Recycling

The Paper Retriever program benefits St. Mary Magdalene by raising funds for our parish church and it
benefits the environment and community.  Through the recycling of newspapers, magazines, catalogs and mail, collectively we reduce landfill use, save water and energy.  Recycle bins for paper are located in the main parish parking lot, near Willowick Drive.

St. Patrick's Day Party

On a Saturday in March, you can find a little bit of Ireland in the SMM Gym.  The annual St. Patrick’s Party has been a tradition for over 25 years.  It is a great event with plenty of dancing, eating and partying.  This party is a fundraiser for the Francis J. O’Hara Scholarship that is given to an 8th grader from SMM Parish who attends a neighboring Catholic grade school and is continuing their education at a Catholic High School.  It is awarded in Frankie’s memory who jumped into the frigid Lake Erie back in the 60’s to save his friend from drowning.  Frankie O’Hara embodies the Scripture:  “Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends”
