Lake Geauga Catholic District CARES for the Separated/Divorced is celebrating 12 years of ministry. They offer support groups, workshops, and healing services for those who are separated, divorced, or in the process of divorce or annulment. This ministry offers a series of weekly support group meetings at several churches within the Lake/Geauga District. The Domestic Violence and Child Advocacy Center is an organization that helps to break the cycle of abuse. They have a commitment to address both child abuse and domestic violence. Their goal is to respond to all who are victimized in these situations, intending to serve children, parents, caregivers, domestic violence and child-abuse victims. Child Abuse and Domestic violence are often related. They are part of a continuum of relationship abuse which includes physical and sexual child abuse, bullying, teen dating abuse, stalking, intimate partner violence, and elder abuse. The Paper Retriever program benefits St. Mary Magdalene by raising funds for our parish church and it benefits the environment and community. Through the recycling of newspapers, magazines, catalogs and mail, collectively we reduce landfill use, save water and energy.
